Come join faith-based organizations, along with other non-profits and emergency management and response professionals, for a day of dialogue and learning on partnerships for emergency preparedness in Santa Barbara County
This full-day forum, led by National VOAD leaders, will feature discussions on long-term recovery and emotional and spiritual care as critical components of a community's preparation for and response to significant disasters or emergencies.
Why Participate?
This is an opportunity for faith-based and community-based organizations to:
Emergency Management officials on the ground during and after Hurricane Sandy faced specific challenges and came away with valuable lessons learned regarding both response and recovery from a large-scale natural disaster. In this all-member meeting we will hear from Emergency Services Manager for the American Red Cross, Paul Deis, and discuss better ways for our community to respond to and prepare for a disaster like Sandy.
